About The Good Beer Store

“Good Friends, Good Wine, Good Times” is proudly displayed on the wall of the newly opened Good Beer and Wine Store and that’s exactly how this little store came to fruition. Friends Bob and Teresa Prouty and Ruthie and Kevin Antonucci, all of the small western Maine town of Fryeburg which lies on the New Hampshire border nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains, have been spending the last 15 years enjoying good times together over a vast selection of craft beers, red wine and a little coffee brandy for Teresa.
About two years ago the friends found themselves frequenting a local restaurant and pub that boasts over 1000 bottles of beer many of which are impossible to find locally. On their quest to try them all they began throwing the idea around of opening their craft beer store, so they could take home their favorites, right here in Fryeburg. This remained a dream in both the couples lives until December of 2010. As any Mainer knows driving in snowy weather becomes second nature but never becomes enjoyable. So it was, on the couples third trip to Portland, a 2 hour round trip trek from Fryeburg all to find good beer they knew that their dream was destined to become a reality. The doors to the Good Beer and Wine Store officially opened to the public on April 2nd with the promise of more good times to come for the friends and all who enters its doors. So come in, become good friends and grab some good beer!
